OLA Verde Accredited as Observer NGO for COP16 on Biodiversity in Cali

OLA Verde has been officially accredited to participate as an observer organization at the 16th Conference of the Parties (COP16) to the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD), which will take place in Cali, Colombia, in October 2024. Organized by the CBD Secretariat, this global summit is one of the most significant decision-making spaces for the conservation and sustainable use of biodiversity.

COP16 will bring together government leaders, scientists, international organizations, and key civil society actors to discuss strategies and commitments aimed at preserving global biodiversity. A central focus will be the implementation of the Post-2020 Global Biodiversity Framework, a strategic roadmap guiding international action over the next decade to halt biodiversity loss.

OLA Verde’s founding members will attend the COP16 events, representing the organization in key discussions and collaborating with other NGOs, subnational governments, and universities to promote sustainable local policies. This accreditation underscores OLA Verde’s strong commitment to accelerating climate action from the ground up, with a global impact.
